Rachel Hennein is a Clinical Fellow at the Child Study Center, Yale School of Medicine. She completed her MD/PhD in Epidemiology at Yale (2024) and holds a BS in Global Health & Psychology from Duke University (2016). Her research focuses on implementation science in global health, mental health disparities among healthcare workers, and tuberculosis intervention strategies in Uganda. She has collaborated extensively with Dr. Luke Davis and Dr. Sarah Lowe on studies addressing healthcare worker well-being during pandemics and TB care implementation.

Her research interests span global health equity, healthcare worker mental health, and the intersection of racism/gender discrimination with clinical outcomes. She has pioneered mixed-methods studies on vicarious racism’s impact on minority healthcare workers and led a stepped-wedge trial improving TB contact investigation in Uganda. Her work on gender discrimination during the pandemic highlighted disparities in mental health outcomes among female healthcare providers.
Rachel’s publications reflect a focus on implementation strategies, stigma reduction, and healthcare equity. Her studies often integrate qualitative and quantitative approaches to address systemic barriers in healthcare delivery. She is affiliated with the Trauma and Mental Health Lab at Yale and contributes to the Child Study Center’s clinical research initiatives.
