Dr. Xin Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business. She holds a PhD in Accounting from Temple University, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland, and a BS in Management Information Systems from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecom. Her research focuses on auditing behaviors, firm risks, law enforcement impacts, corporate governance, and the application of artificial intelligence in the accounting profession. She teaches courses such as Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics, Financial Accounting, and Managerial Accounting.
Dr. Zhao emphasizes interactive and engaging pedagogy to foster student learning and motivation. Her work bridges theoretical research with practical implications for modern accounting practices, particularly in adapting to technological advancements like AI.
