Prof. Xie Jianping is a Full Professor at the National University of Singapore, leading research in engineered metal nanoclusters for biomedical and catalytic applications. His interdisciplinary work merges chemistry, materials science, biology, and medicine to design ultrasmall gold/silver nanoclusters addressing healthcare and environmental challenges.
Key achievements include attaining Full Professorship (2023), being consecutively named a Highly Cited Researcher in Chemistry (2018–2021), and admission as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2019). His research focuses on nanocluster synthesis, luminescence properties, and applications in cancer therapy, bioimaging, and catalysis.
- Developed methods for precise synthesis of atomically defined nanoclusters.
- Engineered nanoclusters for targeted tumor imaging and photothermal therapy.
- Explored nanocluster-based antimicrobial agents and photocatalytic systems.
Publications span high-impact journals like Nature Chemistry, Angewandte Chemie, and Nature Communications, with over 15 key articles highlighted here. His lab’s work frequently collaborates with institutions globally, advancing both fundamental science and translational applications.
Grants and funding support his research into nanocluster-driven solutions for energy, health, and environmental sustainability. The Xie Group’s innovations aim to bridge atomic-level precision with real-world biomedical and industrial challenges.
