معرفی
Dr. Xiaoyong Yang is a Professor of Comparative Medicine and Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine. He holds an adjunct professorship at Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on metabolic signaling mechanisms, particularly O-GlcNAc modifications and circadian rhythms' interplay with metabolic diseases. He completed his training at Nankai University, Peking University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the Salk Institute under Ronald Evans.
Education: B.S. (Nankai, 1993), M.S. (Peking, 1996), Ph.D. (UAB, 2001), Postdoc (Salk Institute, 2008).
Research Interests:
- O-GlcNAc signaling in nutrient-sensing pathways
- Circadian clock-metabolism integration
- Diabetes, obesity, and cancer mechanisms
- Protein post-translational modifications
Key Contributions: Developed Opto-OGT optogenetic tools, elucidated O-GlcNAc roles in metabolic diseases, and founded the Cancer Metabolism Initiative (CAMI). Over 100 peer-reviewed articles in Cell, Nature, and Science.
Awards: Connecticut Academy of Science & Engineering (2024), American Diabetes Association (2019), multiple NIH review roles.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Yang Lab at Yale, focusing on metabolic physiology and systems biology. Active in collaborative initiatives like the Yale Center for Molecular and Systems Metabolism (YMSM).
