Xiaolu Xu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting & Finance at University of Massachusetts Boston's College of Management. Her research focuses on auditor behavior, internal control, financial reporting, and corporate social responsibility. She has published extensively in journals like Journal of Business Finance and Accounting and Advances in Accounting.

Xu’s research examines how audit pricing and internal control weaknesses interact with corporate governance structures. She investigates the impact of technological peer pressure on auditing decisions and how corporate social responsibility influences auditor-client relationships. Her work also addresses liquidity management under regulatory frameworks like Regulation Fair Disclosure.
