Dr. Xiaolan Huang serves as a Research Scientist at the Center affiliated with Stony Brook University. He holds a Master's degree from Nanjing Agricultural University and a PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Miami. His research focuses on biogeochemistry of soil, water, plants, and solid waste, particularly phosphorus cycles and iron oxide nanomaterials' catalytic properties. He has contributed significantly to understanding inorganic enzymes' roles in early Earth environments. Dr. Huang is an active peer reviewer for 20 international journals, bridging environmental chemistry and nanotechnology.
Education:
- PhD in Environmental Chemistry, Hebrew University of Jerusalem
- Master's in Soil Ecology, Nanjing Agricultural University
Research Interests: Biogeochemical processes involving phosphorus and iron oxides, inorganic nanomaterials' catalytic properties, prebiotic chemistry, and environmental applications of nanoparticles. His work explores how inorganic systems mimic enzymatic activity, with implications for early life origins and environmental remediation.
Grants & Advising: No specific grants or advisees listed in the provided text.
Labs/Teams: Part of the Center's interdisciplinary research team focusing on environmental solutions and emergency response.
