معرفی
Associate Professor Ehsan Tavakkoli is a Senior Mortlock Fellow at the University of Adelaide's School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, part of the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. His research focuses on soil science, biochar applications, sustainable agriculture, and fertilizer technology, with a particular emphasis on improving crop productivity in challenging soil conditions. He has conducted extensive studies on subsoil amelioration, phosphorus management, and the development of novel nanomaterials derived from agricultural waste. His work bridges fundamental soil chemistry with practical agricultural solutions, addressing issues such as soil dispersion, nutrient cycling, and greenhouse gas emissions.
His research interests include understanding and mitigating soil constraints like sodicity and acidity, optimizing organic and inorganic amendments, and advancing eco-friendly strategies for phosphorus and carbon management. He has contributed to projects improving crop yields in alkaline dispersive subsoils through innovative fertilization techniques and biochar applications. His interdisciplinary approach integrates environmental chemistry, nanotechnology, and agricultural engineering to address global challenges in sustainable farming.
Notable contributions include studies on biochar’s role in stabilizing soil organic carbon, the development of slow-release fertilizers using graphene oxide composites, and investigations into colloidal phosphorus dynamics in water systems. His work highlights the importance of soil health in enhancing agricultural resilience under climate change.
