Xiaofu He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI). He is affiliated with the Health Analytics Committee, Foundations of Data Science, and Education Affiliated Member at Columbia University.
His interdisciplinary research integrates computer science, machine learning, multimodal neuroimaging, and neurobiology to advance mental health diagnostics and treatment. Key areas include:
- Advancing Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) preprocessing and automated quality control methods;
- Identifying brain biomarkers for psychiatric disorders;
- Developing AI/deep learning models for diagnosis and personalized interventions;
- Investigating real-time fMRI and EEG neurofeedback as therapeutic tools.
He also teaches the course 'Applied Machine Learning for Computer Vision' for Statistics and Data Science Institute (DSI) master’s students.
