Xiao-an Zhang

Xiao-an Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science & Chemistry at the University of Toronto Scarborough. His research focuses on the development of next-generation MRI contrast agents to enhance molecular specificity, sensitivity, and pharmacokinetics for clinical and research applications. His work bridges chemistry, biology, and medical physics, with three key research directions: multifunctional high-relaxivity T1 MRI contrast agents, enzyme-activatable MRI reporters, and hyperpolarized MRI/magnetic resonance spectroscopy probes.
