Xiao Yu

Xiao Yu is a Visiting Fellow and postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Spatial Economics, School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds a PhD (2021) from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Research Focus:

• Applies academic insights to real-world problems with emphasis on behavioral economics
• Past work: Time preference modeling, nudge theory, and policy design interventions
• Current research: Mobility behavior dynamics during/post COVID-19 pandemic
• Specific expertise: Intertemporal decision-making, procrastination mitigation, and safety communication design

• Conducted interactive tutorials for 'Introduction to Behaviour Economics' (Bachelor level)
