Xiang Li, PhD is a staff physicist at the Cleveland Clinic Imaging Institute and a certified diagnostic medical physicist. She specializes in clinical physics support for radiography and CT, radiation safety, and medical physics education. Dr. Li holds a PhD from Duke University and has authored/co-authored 25 peer-reviewed articles and 49 presentations.
Her research focuses on CT dosimetry, pediatric radiography optimization, and radiation safety protocols. She served as an assistant professor and program co-director at Cleveland State University (2013–2015), teaching radiation safety and biology courses. At Cleveland Clinic, she leads development of the diagnostic medical physics residency program and serves as associate program director.
Dr. Li is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and chairs their Medical Physics Education committees. She also participates in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) CT examination committee. Awards include the 2015 Physics Teacher of the Year and 2013 Crain’s Forty Under 40 recognition.
