Kate Wampler is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration (University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Radiation Science Technology (UNMC, 2002). Wampler is credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in abdomen, OB/GYN, breast, pediatric, and vascular sonography, as well as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography.
Her research focuses on ultrasound simulation and interprofessional education, with particular emphasis on improving clinical instruction methods and student outcomes. She teaches in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings and coordinates the Abdomen-Extended and OB/GYN clinical programs in Omaha.
Her publications emphasize innovative teaching strategies like Peyton’s 4-Step Approach for skill development, blended learning models, and interprofessional training initiatives. She has also contributed to case studies on abdominal pathologies and procedural competency assessment.
Wampler currently serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and actively participates in curriculum development to enhance student preparedness for clinical practice.
