معرفی
Xi Yang is an Associate Professor at the University of Oslo (UiO), affiliated with the Section for Energy Systems. Her research focuses on climate change mitigation strategies, sustainable energy transitions, and dynamic modeling of energy systems. Key areas include hydrogen and ammonia innovation, decarbonization of hard-to-abate industrial sectors (iron/steel, cement, chemicals), and integrated assessment of energy-environmental-social impacts. She has contributed to global projects like the EC Horizon 2020 ParisReinforce initiative, emphasizing demand-side evaluations for green hydrogen applications.
Dr. Yang leads interdisciplinary projects across Europe, the US, and Africa, addressing high-resolution power sector analysis, electric bus adoption, and optimized building energy systems. Her work bridges top-down and bottom-up energy modeling frameworks, supported by collaborations with the World Bank Group and industry partners. She has published in prestigious journals such as Nature Energy, Nature Communications, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, with contributions cited in the IPCC AR6 WGIII report.
In addition to academic leadership, she designs capacity-building programs for policymakers and entrepreneurs in the Global South, including training in decision-making theory and open science initiatives focused on demand-side observations.
