Dr. Xi Liu is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Psychology at the University of Strathclyde. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Sheffield and is a Chartered Psychologist (BPS), Registered Member (BACP), and Associate Fellow (HEA). Her teaching spans BA Psychology, BSc Psychology and Counselling, and MSc Psychology with Business specializations. She leads modules on Positive & Humanistic Psychology, Development, and Social & Developmental Psychology.
Her research focuses on mental health, help-seeking behaviors, and cultural adaptation among international students. Notable projects include a mixed-methods study on internet-delivered CBT for Chinese international students and a dataset exploring loneliness experiences. She has collaborated on initiatives like the HASS Summer School linking Psychology with Technology.
Dr. Liu’s career includes roles in China as a psychological counsellor and primary school teacher, alongside creative writing for children’s literature. She actively contributes to professional communities through conference organization and journal peer-review.
