Xavier Deroy is a Professor of Strategy and Organizational Theory at NEOMA Business School. He holds an HDR from Dauphine University, a PhD from Cnam, and a Master's in Economics from Dauphine. His research focuses on events and management, codification processes, complexity in organizations, and institutional theory. He has published widely in journals like Organization Studies, Behavioral Sciences, and Management International, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Deroy has organized the Euram Conference research workshop for 8 years and presented at major international conferences such as EGOS and ANZAM. He previously served as head of department and directed Masternova with Agroparistech.
His work explores how events shape organizational behavior, particularly in cooperative systems, healthcare, and agriculture. Key themes include the interplay between cooperative and market logics, Luhmannian systems theory, and posthumanist perspectives. Deroy has contributed to understanding disability social dynamics, sustainable viticulture, and innovation trajectories in aerospace and pharmaceutical sectors.
He edited Formes de l'agir stratégique and co-authored influential chapters on contingency theory and recursive institutional change. His research bridges theoretical frameworks with practical case studies, emphasizing organizational evolution and strategic adaptation in complex environments.
