Wu Kangping serves as Professor and Party Branch Secretary of the Department of Economics at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management, where he has been a professor and doctoral supervisor since December 1998.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Northwest University (1982)
- Master's degree in Mathematics from Northwest University (1985)
- Doctorate in Mathematical Economics from the Institute of Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1989)
- Postdoctoral researcher at Nankai University (1989-1991)
Professor Wu's research spans Economics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Monetary Economics, Mathematical Economics, and Technology Innovation. He has published over 70 papers in leading domestic and international journals including Economic Research, Statistical Research, and Systems Engineering: Theory and Practice, with consistent focus on quantitative economic modeling and policy analysis.
His significant honors include:
- Beijing Higher Education (Youth) Academic Leader
- China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation Trans-Century Discipline Leader
- Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Supervisor at Tsinghua University and Beijing
