Wouter Sluis-Thiescheffer is a Lecturer in Media Design at the HAN University of Applied Sciences, leading the Media Design Lectorate. His work focuses on advancing human-centered design principles in the age of AI and intelligent technologies. He holds a Professorship in Media Design with a focus on creativity as a problem-solving skill, addressing societal challenges through inclusive, climate-conscious innovations.
Expertise includes UX research methods, playful media, and concept development, with projects involving clients like Elsevier, Philips, and KPN. He collaborates with key partners including the Municipality of Arnhem, Alliander, and global initiatives like Designing for Children's Rights.
His research emphasizes the Symbiocene framework, integrating human behavior, technology, and environmental systems. Recent work explores AI's role in creative industries, governmental communication accessibility, and exergaming for social issues. He serves on the board of the International Association for Designing for Children's Rights and contributes to initiatives like CHI Netherlands and User Central.
