Wout Dillen is a Senior Lecturer in Library and Information Science at the University of Borås, specializing in Knowledge Organization and Digital Environments. He holds a PhD in Literature from the University of Antwerp (2015) and completed an Experienced Researcher fellowship in the DiXiT project (2016–2017). His research focuses on digital scholarly editing, digitization processes, paradata, and sustainable research infrastructures. He is affiliated with the Swedish School of Library and Information Science under the Faculty of Librarianship, Information, Education and IT.
Research interests include critical digitization, digital preservation, web accessibility, and tool criticism. He has contributed to projects analyzing digitization practices in European libraries and advocating for open licenses and minimal computing approaches. His work bridges literature, linguistics, and LIS, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration.
Academic service roles include Board membership of the European Society for Textual Scholarship (ESTS) since 2015, Secretary since 2017, and editorial roles in journals such as Variants and Information Research.
