Won Yong Jang

Won Yong Jang serves as Professor of Integrated Strategic Communication in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and holds a nonresident scholar position at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University.

Professor Jang's research program centers on Asian affairs and U.S.-Asia relations, with pioneering work on news media dynamics in East Asian societies. His expertise spans strategic communication, global journalism, territorial disputes in the Asia-Pacific, North Korean nuclear policy perception, and climate change communication frameworks. Current investigations examine digital power structures in cross-cultural contexts and environmental policy discourse.

He instructs graduate and undergraduate courses in research methodology, strategic communication, international communication, and globalization, culture, & digital power, integrating field research into pedagogical practice.
