Wolfgang Busch

Wolfgang Busch, PhD, is a Professor and Director of the Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology Laboratory and Integrative Biology Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. He leads the Harnessing Plants Initiative, aiming to engineer plants with enhanced root systems to combat climate change by sequestering carbon. His research focuses on understanding root system genetics, environmental adaptation, and leveraging this knowledge for sustainable agriculture and carbon capture.
