Wojciech Daszkiewicz is a Professor of Metaphysics at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin's Faculty of Philosophy. His roles include serving as the Department Head and editorial secretary for the Universal Encyclopedia of Philosophy. He holds habilitation (dr hab.) and has been recognized with awards such as the Wł. Pietrzak Award and Poland's Bronze Medal for Long Service.
Education: MA in Philosophy (2001) and PhD (2007) from KUL, specializing in metaphysics and philosophical anthropology under Rev. Prof. Andrzej Maryniarczyk. His habilitation (2020) focused on 'Being – Man – Culture.'
Research interests span metaphysics, philosophy of culture, cultural theory, and philosophical anthropology. He has published extensively, including peer-reviewed articles on cultural autonomy, Western civilization crises, and intellectual intuition. Key works include Byt – Czlowiek – Kultura (2019) and editorship of Thomas Aquinas' Disputes on Conscience (2018).
Teaching includes courses like 'Theory of Culture' and 'Philosophy of Culture' at KUL since 2008. He advises students on cultural and metaphysical topics, and his editorial roles include Universal Encyclopedia of Philosophy and Annals of Cultural Studies.
Professional memberships include the Polish Thomas Aquinas Association and Polish Cultural Studies Society. He organizes conferences on metaphysics and cultural studies, contributing to academic networks like the Three Seas Universities Network.
