Winnie Looby is a Lecturer in Special Education and Program Coordinator of the Disability Studies Certificate of Graduate Study, affiliated with the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion (CDCI) and the Department of Education at the University of Vermont. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (Special Education concentration) and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Special Education, both from UVM, alongside an M.F.A. in Illustration.

Her research and professional interests focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, disability studies, early childhood education, educational technology, and family-school partnerships. Her work integrates her artistic training with advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly for individuals with exceptionalities. She has been deeply involved in Vermont’s education system as a parent, volunteer, and educator in Burlington schools.
Winnie is actively engaged with the CDCI, promoting community inclusion for people with disabilities through academic and outreach initiatives.
