Winifred Woodhull is an Associate Professor of French in the Department of Literature at the University of California San Diego, affiliated with the Division of Arts and Humanities. Her research focuses on French literature, postcolonial studies, feminist/critical theory, and film studies, with emphasis on African and Caribbean literatures. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has served as Section Head for French Literature (Spring 2017).
Her academic work critically examines intersections between colonial histories, gender politics, and cultural production.
