Dr. Winifred Mak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. As Director of the Early Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) Program, she specializes in reproductive endocrinology, treating conditions like infertility, RPL, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Her clinical practice emphasizes personalized, evidence-based care across four Connecticut locations.
Dr. Mak holds an MBBS and PhD in Genetics from the University of London. Her training includes Ob/Gyn residencies at Addenbrooke's Hospital (UK) and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (USA), followed by a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She joined Yale as a NIH-funded Women’s Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) scholar.
Her research at the Yale Stem Cell Center focuses on oocyte and early embryo biology, particularly epigenetic mechanisms in placental development and imprinting disorders. The 'Mak Lab' explores how these processes impact fertility and pregnancy outcomes, translating findings into clinical advancements.
