William Sherk

Dr. William Sherk is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan Medical School. He serves as Program Director for the Integrated Interventional Radiology residency and is co-lead of the steering committee for the Frankel Cardiovascular Center Venous Health Program. As a board-certified Vascular Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Sherk specializes in venous, lymphatic, and aortic diseases, leading a multidisciplinary team focused on complex venous problems.

Dr. Sherk completed his medical education at Temple University School of Medicine in 2013, followed by residency training in Integrated Interventional Radiology at Michigan Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. After completing his training in 2019, he joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Sherk's scholarly work spans multiple areas of vascular and interventional radiology, with particular emphasis on venous diseases, lymphatic imaging, and standardized reporting practices. His publications in high-impact journals like RadioGraphics and the American Journal of Roentgenology demonstrate his commitment to advancing both clinical practice and educational standards in the field. His research on aortic dissection has provided valuable insights into pressure correlations that inform clinical decision-making for complex vascular conditions.

Through his leadership roles in residency education and the Venous Health Program, Dr. Sherk has established himself as a key contributor to the advancement of vascular interventional radiology at the University of Michigan and beyond.
