Dr. William Salton is a Clinical Professor of Psychology at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and Clinical Director of the Max and Celia Parnes Family Psychological and Psychoeducational Services Clinic at Yeshiva University. He holds a PhD from New York University and completed postdoctoral training in child and adolescent psychodynamic psychotherapy at NYU Medical Center, family forensics at Washington Square Institute, and family and couples therapy at the Tavistock Center in London. He is also trained by Physicians for Human Rights to work with asylum seekers.
His research focuses on clinical psychology, psychodynamic approaches, forensic applications, and mental health advocacy for marginalized populations. He teaches courses such as 'Working with Asylum Seekers,' 'Psychopathology and Illness,' and 'Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Practicum Lab.'
Dr. Salton's publications include work on asylum seeker advocacy strategies and psychoanalytic theory. His clinical and academic contributions emphasize ethical practice in multicultural contexts and systemic advocacy for vulnerable groups.
