Tracy A. Prout is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University (2009), a certificate in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education (2012), and advanced training through the International Psychoanalytical Association and Duke University. She co-chairs the American Psychoanalytic Association’s Fellowship Committee and APA Division 39’s Research Committee.

Dr. Prout specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy outcome research, Regulation-Focused Psychotherapy for Children (RFP-C), and psychotherapy process studies. Her work explores implicit emotion regulation, defense mechanisms, and the integration of spirituality in therapeutic contexts. She leads the psychodynamic psychotherapy lab at Ferkauf and supervises graduate students in RFP-C studies.
Her publications emphasize child therapy, emotional regulation, and the interplay between religious coping and psychological defenses. Awards include Fellowships from the American Psychoanalytic Association and IPA-Yale Child Study Center. She teaches courses like Psychodynamic Theory and Practice with Children & Families and Practicum in Child Therapy I.
