William N. West is a Professor of English and Comparative Literary Studies at Northwestern University's Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has served roles such as chair of the Classics Department and member of the graduate faculty. His research focuses on early modern drama, poetry, and prose, with notable works like *Common Understandings, Poetic Confusions* (2021) and *Theatres and Encyclopedias in Early Modern Europe* (2003).
