William "Bill" Miller is an Associate Professor of Sport Management and Department Chair in the Health, Kinesiology & Sport Management Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He holds a JD from Marquette University Law School (1996) and a BA in Politics and Government from Ripon College (with minors in Law and Society, and History).
**Professional Roles**: Former Chairperson of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Sports and Entertainment Law Section; current Board Member of that Section; Board Member of Marquette University’s National Sports Law Institute (since 2011); and former member of Ripon College Alumni Association Board (2006–2012). He is affiliated with the Sports Lawyers Association (SLA), Sports Marketing Association (SMA), Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), and North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM).
**Awards & Recognition**: Recipient of Ripon College’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award (2002), Marquette University’s first Sports Law Alumnus of the Year (2002), and multiple nominations for UW-Parkside’s Stella M. Gray Teaching Award and Faculty Advising Award.
**Key Contributions**: Focuses on sports law, governance, and education within sport management. Active in legal advocacy for sports organizations and academic advising. Serves as an advisor to Marquette University’s Sports Law program and maintains scholarly interest in baseball history through SABR.
