Michael Phegley is an Associate Professor of Management and Director of the Mock Trial Program at Carthage College. He joined the faculty in 2003 and previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. With over 35 years of litigation experience, he practices law specializing in family, criminal, and employment law, and is a certified mediator. He has been the municipal judge for the Village of Mount Pleasant since 2010 and serves as a judicial court commissioner for Racine County.
Prof. Phegley teaches Legal Environment of Business, Accounting Law, and Mock Trial. He leads the Carthage Mock Trial Team, achieving notable successes including a 43rd national ranking in 2016 and multiple Opening Round Championship Series participations. He also advises the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity.
Education: Juris Doctor (Marquette University) and B.S. in Labor & Industrial Relations (University of Wisconsin-Parkside).
Community involvement includes roles on the Racine County Bar Association, Racine Youth Sports board, and boards for UW-Parkside Alumni Association and St. Catherine’s High School.
