William Lye OAM KC is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law, Monash University, with over 36 years of expertise in general commercial and private international law. His career spans corporations and securities law, intellectual property, international arbitration, and mediation, alongside significant contributions to governance in educational and multicultural sectors.

His research focuses on multicultural lawyering, public international law, international criminal law (universal jurisdiction and trials in absentia), reciprocal recognition of foreign judgments, AI workflows, and advocacy training. William has authored key publications on multicultural legal frameworks and dispute resolution, emphasizing cross-border legal harmonization and ethical diversity. His 2021 chapter explores systemic approaches to cultural competence in legal practice, while his 2013 article analyzes arbitration-mediation dynamics in Hong Kong.
