معرفی
William James Smith is a visiting researcher at the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE) and holds a Research Associate position at the University of Oxford. His research spans ecology, evolutionary biology, and parasitology, focusing on wildlife behavior, genomic diversity, and human impacts on avian populations.
Research Interests:
- Evolutionary dynamics of wild-feral-domestic interfaces
- Parasite exchange in hybridizing bird populations
- Conservation strategies for naturalized avian species
- Genomic diversity in urban-adapted birds
Publications (2023-2025): His recent work examines anthropogenic landscape adaptation in rock doves (2025), conservation challenges of declining naturalized birds (2023), and hybridization-related genomic changes in pigeons (2023). These studies intersect ecology, genetics, and conservation biology.
Projects: Currently manages the HiLIFE Fellows funding project (2023-2025) at the University of Helsinki.
