Scott Taylor is an Associate Professor and Director of the Mountain Research Station at the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Arts and Sciences. His work bridges evolutionary ecology, population genomics, and speciation in birds, particularly focusing on hybridization and anthropogenic impacts on species evolution.
His research integrates genomics and field experiments to study reproductive isolation, plumage adaptation, and climate resilience in alpine and arctic songbirds. Recent projects include the Boulder Chickadee Study and hybrid zone expansions in titmice.

Scott’s publications (2021–2025) highlight hybridization mechanisms, climate adaptation, and anthropogenic influences across ornithology and evolutionary biology journals. His lab supports undergraduate and graduate research, including UROP-funded projects on avian pox and cognitive evolution.
