Wietske Dohmen

Wietske Dohmen is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Population Health Sciences and the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS). Her work bridges veterinary epidemiology, public health, and environmental safety.

Dr. Dohmen earned her PhD in 2020 with the thesis Epidemiology of ESBL - About pigs and humans, focusing on antimicrobial resistance transmission between animals and humans. She serves as a panel member for EFSA's Biological Hazards Panel (BIOHAZ), contributing to food safety and zoonotic disease policies.
