Wieby Altink-van den Berg

Dr. Wieby Altink-van den Berg is a part-time Lecturer in Social, Health, and Organisational Psychology at Utrecht University's Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. He also serves as a thesis supervisor at Athena Institute (Free University Amsterdam) and Tilburg University. His career spans over 20 years in HR consultancy, leadership coaching, and academic roles, including Associate Professor positions at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds a PhD in Psychological and Pedagogical Sciences from VU Amsterdam (1988).

Professional roles include Managing Consultant at CEB/Gartner and Senior HR Consultant at SHL Nederland, focusing on innovation, leadership development, and strategic HR. He has led international projects in organizational psychology and served as Chairman of the Dutch Association for Recruitment, Search and Selection (2000–2002). His certifications include NIP/Europsy Registered Work and Organization Psychologist and RINO Senior Certified Coach (ICF).

Research interests bridge academic and practical HR challenges, with over 100 publications in organizational psychology. Teaching emphasizes critical thinking, ethical application of theory, and collaborative problem-solving in organizational and social psychology contexts.
