David van den Berg is an Endowed Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, VU University Amsterdam, and holds a joint appointment in APH - Mental Health. He is Head of the Mark van der Gaag Research Centre (MRC) and Lead of the TopGGZ Early Detection and Intervention Team at Parnassia Psychiatric Institute in The Hague. His expertise includes cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis and PTSD, trauma-focused interventions, and innovative mental health projects involving industrial design and philosophy.
Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology (VU University Amsterdam, focused on trauma treatment in psychosis/PTSD). Research interests include testing psycho-social interventions for complex mental health issues, trauma-psychosis relationships, and prevention strategies. Collaborations span interdisciplinary projects like FeelingSafe-NL, Patterns of Life, and Redesigning Psychiatry.
