Wesley Boozer is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of English at Pennsylvania State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2007), a Master's in Education from Wesley College (1998), and a Baccalaureate in Speech and Theatre from Wagner College (1993). Previously, he served as a full professor at Hodges University (Naples, Florida) for 15 years, where he received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2020.
His research focuses on student-centered pedagogy, teacher research methodology, and the works of twentieth-century Scandinavian writers and artists (e.g., Astrid Lindgren, Isak Dinesen, Ingmar Bergman). He also studies nineteenth-century Swedish-American immigration and the historical evolution of the English language.
Boozer's career bridges academia and the performing arts, with prior experience in New York City theater. He remains active in community arts, leading singalongs for dementia patients. His family includes notable educators: his father worked on rocket propulsion at Cape Canaveral in the 1950s, and his mother is a Professor Emeritus at Wesley College and Delaware Women's Hall of Fame inductee (1996).
