Wenjin Liu is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. They hold a Ph.D. from Princeton University (2019). Their research focuses on ancient philosophy, particularly Plato, and comparative ethics between Eastern and Western traditions. Liu teaches courses such as Chinese Philosophy, History of Ancient Philosophy, and Comparative Ethics.
Research interests include moral realism, epistemological inquiries in Plato's dialogues, and the intersection of Chinese and Greek philosophical thought. Notable publications explore Plato’s moral realism and the concept of ignorance in the Protagoras. Courses taught reflect expertise in both classical and cross-cultural philosophical studies.
Before joining Duke in 2023, Liu served as an Assistant Research Professor (2022–2023). Their work has been highlighted in Duke’s 2022 feature on new philosophers contributing to interdisciplinary inquiry.
