Wendy Warner serves as Assistant Professor at Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music, holding the Leah D. Hamer Distinguished Faculty Chair. A world-renowned cellist, she maintains an active international performance career while contributing to music education.
Warner began piano at age four and cello at six under Nell Novak, debuted with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at fourteen, and graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music after studying with Mstislav Rostropovich.
Her artistic focus centers on cello performance, chamber music, and historical repertoire rediscovery. As co-founder of the Beethoven Project Trio, she premiered a previously unknown Beethoven trio in 2009 and performs extensively with ensembles like the Vermeer Quartet and Warner/Nuzova Duo. Her work bridges performance practice with scholarly exploration of historical scores.
