Wendy Pullan is a Professor of Architecture and Urban Studies at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Department of Architecture within the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art. She previously served as Head of the Department (2014-2017) and currently directs the Centre for Urban Conflicts Research. A Fellow of Clare College, she specializes in European and Middle Eastern architecture, urban heritage, and the interplay between conflict and urban transformation.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on urban conflicts, historical and contemporary urban dynamics, religious architecture (particularly Jerusalem’s holy sites), and medieval pilgrimage routes. She examines how urban spaces evolve under political, religious, and social tensions, emphasizing heritage preservation and spatial justice.
