Professor Wendy Moncur leads the Cybersecurity Group at the University of Strathclyde's Department of Computer & Information Sciences. Her research focuses on human aspects of cybersecurity, privacy, trust, and identity, particularly during life transitions. She has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and leads interdisciplinary projects like AP4L and REPHRAIN, addressing privacy challenges in generative AI and life transitions. Previously, she worked in Fintech, Utilities, and Manufacturing as a database designer and programmer.

Research Interests: Online privacy during life transitions (e.g., illness, gender transition, relationship breakdown), adaptive privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), and cybersecurity's social dimensions. Collaborates with tech companies (e.g., IBM, Facebook), legal agencies (e.g., Surrey Police), and NGOs (e.g., LGBT Foundation).
Key Projects: AP4L (2022-2025) designs privacy tools for life transitions; REPHRAIN (2023-2024) addresses generative AI privacy risks. Past projects include Cumulative Revelations (2020-2022) and TAPESTRY (2017-2020).
Teaching: MSc Cybersecurity courses, undergraduate supervision. Supervised 5 PhD completions in digital well-being, bereavement, and online art.
Professional Activities: Visiting Professor at University of Dundee (2020-2022), EPSRC Peer Review College member, and SPRITE+ Expert Fellow.
