She has collaborated with Professor Lonna Atkeson on a Thornburg Foundation grant (2016-2017) evaluating public financing in New Mexico elections.
Recent work highlights trends in abortion policy regulation, pandemic impacts on voting behavior, and post-conflict peacebuilding. Her publications analyze topics ranging from trade policy decision-making to the role of corporate lobbying in Washington DC. Hansen’s work bridges theoretical political science with applied policy analysis, emphasizing empirical research on governance, economic influences, and transitional justice.
