Clara Park is a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Political Science at Duke University, affiliated with the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. Her work bridges international political economy and environmental policy, with a focus on how firms influence global regulatory frameworks and the geopolitical dimensions of climate change mitigation.
- Education: Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley (2016)
Her research spans international trade and finance, US foreign economic policy in the Asia-Pacific, and the political economy of critical minerals supply chains. Park’s 2024 monograph, Making Financial Globalization, challenges state-centric narratives by demonstrating how corporate lobbying drives international financial liberalization through multilateral negotiations. She has also secured grants from NORC at the University of Chicago (2023–2024) to analyze geopolitical risks in cross-strait relations.
Park’s publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches, combining archival analysis of regulatory negotiations with empirical datasets on financial trade restrictions. Her teaching portfolio includes courses on climate change political economy, political methodology, and senior seminars in political economy.
