Dr Wendy Katherine Jarvie is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Canberra. Her career spans government service, international development, and academic research, with expertise in public policy, Indigenous education, and program evaluation.
- Education: BA (Hons) in History, Diploma of Computer Science, Masters of Engineering Science (Newcastle University); PhD in Geography (Flinders University)
- Professional Experience: Deputy Secretary (2001-2008) in Commonwealth Departments of Education, Science and Training and Education, Employment and Workplace Relations; Director, Office of Early Childhood Education and Child Care (2007-2008); World Bank roles in Vietnam and the Pacific; appointments to government committees including the National Indigenous Australians Agency’s Indigenous Evaluation Committee and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Independent Evaluation Committee.
Her research focuses on Australian public policy and administration, particularly innovations in Indigenous development sustainability, national early childhood policy formulation, and government program evaluation methodologies. She began her career in signal detection research and computer programming before transitioning into public service and international policy work.
