Wendy Chun is the Canada 150 Research Chair in New Media at Simon Fraser University's School of Communication and Director of the Digital Democracies Institute. She holds a visiting professorship at Brown University's Department of Modern Culture and Media.
Her research merges Systems Design Engineering with English Literature to critically examine digital media, software, and societal impacts. Key works include Discriminating Data (2021), Updating to Remain the Same (2016), and Programmed Visions (2011).
Chun has received prestigious fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, ACLS, and the Radcliffe Institute. She collaborates globally through the Digital Democracies Institute to develop democratic technologies and cultures.
