Bonnie Honig is the Nancy Duke Lewis Professor of Modern Culture and Media (MCM) and Political Science at Brown University, with courtesy appointments in Religious Studies (RS) and Theater and Performance Studies (TAPS). Her work bridges political theory, cultural studies, and feminist theory, focusing on democratic theory, agonism, and the intersections of gender, politics, and classical texts like Antigone. She has authored influential books such as Democracy and the Foreigner and Antigone, Interrupted, and edited collections including Feminist Interpretations of Hannah Arendt.
Her research explores themes of emergency politics, public goods, and the ethical dimensions of citizenship. Honig has been affiliated with the Digital Democracy Group at Simon Fraser University and the American Bar Foundation. She has been widely recognized for her contributions, including the Scripps Prize and the David Easton Prize. Her teaching encompasses courses on political theory, film, and feminist critique.
