Wendy Cutler

Wendy Cutler is a Lecturer in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University Catholique de l'Ouest (UCO) Angers, as well as at Audencia Business School and ISEG in Nantes. She holds a Doctorate in Foreign Languages, Civilizations, and Literatures from UCO Angers (2011), preceded by a Master's in Texts, Languages, and Cultures (2008) and a quadrilingual degree (2006).

Her research focuses on the semiology of the image, cinema, mythology, Indian culture, and colonialism/post-colonialism. She explores how cinematic representations reflect cultural identity, mythological frameworks, and historical power dynamics. Notable works include analyses of Bollywood cinema's role in cultural expression and the symbolism of recurring motifs like the horse in Indian films.

Wendy has been an active educator since 2008, teaching courses in English, theology, and intercultural communication at various institutions. She contributed to the LEMIC project on stylistic figures in German, English, Spanish, and French, and served as a jury member for Master's defenses at the Institut Supérieur Ozanam in 2012.
