Dr. Weilin Yang is a Research Fellow at the School of Earth Atmosphere and Environment, Monash University. She holds a PhD in Physical Geography from Peking University (2023) and a Bachelor's degree from East China Normal University (2017). Her research focuses on glacial modeling, paleoclimatology, and sea-level change projections. Current work involves collaborating with Prof. Andrew Mackintosh to model global glacier mass changes using ice flow models, aiming to improve understanding of sea-level rise and water resource dynamics.
Education: Doctor of Physical Geography (Peking University, Jan 2023); Bachelor of Physical Geography (East China Normal University, Jul 2017).
Research interests include paleoglacier reconstruction using numerical models, projections of glacial lake evolution, and development of ice flow models. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and environmental sustainability.
Recent publications analyze glacial evolution in the Tibetan Plateau, Himalaya, and Bhutan, emphasizing climate drivers and geomorphological processes. Collaborations span international teams studying glacial dynamics and paleoenvironmental changes.
