Weijun Jin

Weijun Jin, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. His research focuses on lipid metabolism and its implications in cardiovascular disease, particularly through the study of proprotein convertases (PCs) such as PCSK9 and SKI-1/S1P.

Research Highlights:

• Elucidating the role of PCSK9 in LDL receptor (LDLR) degradation and autosomal dominant hypercholesterolemia
• Investigating how classic PCs regulate HDL metabolism via endothelial lipase (EL) cleavage and activation of its inhibitor, ANG PTL3
