Dr. Wei Zhao is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), holding positions since 1999. His research focuses on nanomaterials, laser spectroscopy, and energy-related applications. He earned his BS, MS, and PhD from Peking University, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Key research areas include nanostructure-assisted hydrogen production, carbon nanotube optical properties, and novel spectroscopic techniques like DOVE four-wave mixing. He has organized major symposia on nanoscience and carbon nanotubes, contributing to FACSS and MRS conferences. Awards include UALR's Research Excellence Award (2004).
His teaching covers analytical chemistry, nanoscience, and electrochemistry. He serves on NIH review panels and NSF committees, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration. Recent work explores biomass-derived materials, advanced battery systems, and medical imaging applications.
